February Fun

The past two weeks have been so busy and full of fun! We have been learning all about dinosaurs.  The kids are now able to distinguish between plant and meat eaters.  We have learned the term extinct and what it means.  We wrote about what we would do if we had our very own dinosaur.  We will finish up next week as well as begin our unit on Patriotism.  With President's day being Monday, we will talk about our own country.  We will learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  We will also learn about the significance of our American flag.

We enjoyed our field trip to Children's Theater last Friday to see "The Three Little Kittens." Thank you to all of the chaperones who came along. Our next field trip will be in March to a local weather station for a tour and hopefully a peak at a live broadcast.  This will go right along with our upcoming Weather unit.

This past week brought along with it Valentine's Day and our very special 100th day of school celebration.  Thanks so much for everyone who sent in items for our party as well as for our special 100th day trail mix.  The children had so much fun exchanging Valentine's with one another.  Thank you to Toni Glenn who prepared our heart necklace craft for the party and made delicious heart shaped cookies that the kids were able to decorate.

Have a blessed weekend and enjoy the glorious sunshine!!
