Weather

We have had a great week this week as we have learned all about weather! We have read several non-fiction books on different types of weather.  We learned about different types of clouds and even went on a cloud observation walk outside.  We learned about the water cycle and what makes rain. We read about what makes wind and did a wind science experiment.  And to top it all off, we had an exciting time on our visit to ABC 33/40 today with a station tour from meteorologist Charles Daniel.  Here are some pictures from our week!

Hip Hip Hooray for 100 Days!

We had so much fun today celebrating the 100th day of school! Wow- it's hard to believe that we have been in school for 100 days.  We counted to 100 by 2's, 5's, 10's, and 1's.  We worked on a 100th day celebration booklet.  We made 100 day trail mix by adding 10 of 10 ingredients.  (Sorry if they didn't eat much lunch! Our trail mix was filling!) We also compared and measured our collections of 100 items.  Thanks for sending in the items we needed to make it a super special 100th day!!

Welcome December!

Hello sweet parents! I cannot believe that December is already upon us.  I know that we have a busy few weeks ahead of us and I am looking forward to all that is to come.  We have lots planned and I thank you in advance for all of the help and support this month!

Thanks to the moms who helped with our craft day yesterday.  We have made some sweet ornaments that the children will bring home in a couple of weeks. This week we are going to be talking all about gingerbread men.  We have several different gingerbread stories that we are going to read and some fun activities to go along with them.

We will perform our Christmas program, "The Many Shapes Of Christmas," next Monday, December 9.  That will be followed by a brunch.  We will also perform on Tuesday, but our class will not be eating on that day.  You will need to send a lunch for Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, December 11, we will be visiting Ridgeview Nursing Home to sing Christmas songs with the residents there.  Parents and/or siblings are welcome to attend.

Our class Christmas party will be on Wednesday, December 18 at 12:00.  As you can see, we have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to! I hope that you and your families all had a blessed and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday last week.  I am including some pictures from the past month or so here at CASA! Thanks for all you do!
